Job Title: Applications Engineer
Description
Applications Engineer (AE) Our client makes products that are used by electric utilities throughout the world. These products include items such as surge arresters, insulators, and cable accessories. This position is in the Marketing department that supports the Arrester Business Unit, and it offers a balance of business and engineering duties. This is a high profile role where sound technical skills and communication skills are required. This companies rapid expansion will allow a successful AE to advance to a number of positions within the company. Primarily, an AE serves as a vital link between the company and its customers. AE’s collaborate with other engineers to conceive, design and introduce new and innovative products. AE’s also coordinate with development engineers and manufacturing engineers to resolve production issues. This can involve giving product application demonstrations and presentations. It also entails serving as a technical product specialist by answering direct calls from customers around the world. AE’s will spend the greater part of their time coordinating the day-to-day business activities involved with a particular product. This includes researching, developing and executing product marketing and pricing strategies. REQUIREMENTS • Must have a BS degree in either Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized educational institution. • Customer focused. • Highly motivated and results driven. • Ability to work in a high energy/activity environment. • Desire to advance into a Marketing/Product Manager Role HIGHLY DESIRABLE • International experience is a plus. • 2 – 5 years product sales/marketing experience in the Electric Transmission and Distribution (or related) industry. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES • Responsible for product marketing for specified geographic region, market segment and/or product lines. • Ensuring that customer application issues are resolved satisfactorily and in a timely fashion.
